TWEHA PreFix X-tra is a high-performance, two-component epoxy surface improver, specially developed for the pre-treatment of porous façade and cladding materials such as fiber cement, natural stone and other mineral-based substrates.
Porous materials can absorb and transport moisture through their internal pore structure. Under long-term exposure, moisture at or close to the adhesive interface may adversely affect the durability of the bonded connection. TWEHA PreFix X-tra penetrates and closes the pores at the bonding surface, creating a more stable and controlled interface for the TWEHA adhesive system.
Unlike a conventional adhesion primer, TWEHA PreFix X-tra is primarily a surface improver. Its function is to modify and stabilize the porous substrate and reduce the influence of moisture at the bonding interface rather than compensate for insufficient adhesive performance.
TWEHA PreFix X-tra must be applied to a properly prepared, dry, clean and contamination-free bonding surface in accordance with the applicable TWEHA Instructions for Use.
At standard laboratory conditions of 23 °C and 50% relative humidity, the declared curing time is approximately 12 hours, with a skin-forming time of approximately 30 minutes. Actual processing and curing times are influenced by ambient and substrate temperature.
Because porosity, mineral composition, surface treatment and production processes can vary considerably between façade materials, the use of TWEHA PreFix X-tra must always be based on the applicable TWEHA Technical Data Sheet and the current Tested & Approved recommendations.

It is designed for stone-like façade materials with significant moisture absorption, and for surfaces where moisture transport may influence the durability of the adhesive connection, stabilizing porous bonding surfaces prior to adhesive application. Suitable for both interior and exterior bonded wall-cladding systems, it is used in combination with TWEHA PanelMate or TWEHA StoneMate where specified, tested and approved, as well as with other porous façade materials following TWEHA adhesion and durability assessment.
