TWEHA StoneMate

High-performance elastic adhesive for natural stone, ceramic and porcelain façade panels

TWEHA StoneMate is a homogeneous, highly elastic, one-component high-end hybrid-polymer adhesive, specially developed for the durable bonding of natural stone, ceramic, porcelain and other mineral-based façade materials.

It is particularly suitable for gauged porcelain tile panels, ceramics, concrete and natural materials. By replacing traditional point fixings with an elastic bonded connection, loads can be distributed across the supporting structure while allowing greater design freedom and cleaner façade detailing.

Because natural stone, ceramics and their surface treatments can vary considerably, the compatibility of the complete bonding system with the specific façade material must always be verified against TWEHA’s tested and approved substrates.

The complete TWEHA Bonding System combines TWEHA StoneMate, TWEHA Cleaner+ and TWEHA Tape, supplemented where required with products such as TWEHA SyntheticPrimer or TWEHA Primer #1 or TWEHA Blacken. Surface finishes such as powder coatings must always be checked against the applicable TWEHA approval or tested before use. Always consult the Technical Data Sheets and TWEHA’s current approval database includes numerous natural stone and ceramic products. Compatibility must always be verified for the specific supporting structure.

Technical questions

Still have questions?

TWEHA StoneMate is developed for bonding approved natural stone, ceramic and porcelain façade materials.

Natural stone varies by quarry, type and production batch, so the actual bonding surface should always be assessed before installation.

A peel test can be carried out on a representative stone sample after the adhesive has fully cured, typically after approximately five days.

Predominantly cohesive failure within the adhesive indicates that adhesion to the stone surface is stronger than the adhesive itself.

Yes. StoneMate remains highly elastic after curing and can accommodate differential movement between the façade panel and substructure.
